Hi everyone, it's Kolo.
This is a personal blog. I don't know if it's appropriate to say this, I even feel embarrassed really, but it's something very real that has been affecting my career and how I've been feeling on my chest.
About recently, Best of October 2024 has been unleashed, a wonderful ground to showcase the best this site has to offer, but then I remember back to Rabbitball, my passionate game whimsically inspired by arcade cabinets, which has failed to obtain any models, unlike its predecessor, Walking Up. It wasn't frontpaged, nor was it a runner-up.
And retrospectively, that's fine. I'm not going to make a salty rant about it, that's childish, and is not what this blog post is about. Like I said, this is a personal blog, I can only weigh in what's on my chest and how I've been feeling.
I have a confession to make, Rabbitball sinking into obscurity has sent me into a deep depression that lasted weeks, and in all honesty, is still partially ongoing. 'Twas a huge passion project of mine, due its inspiration from many games I liked, I did the game assets and animation, designed levels and mechanics, it was truly something I wanted the website to see, like my earlier game Walking Up and the other games on the featured page, but it seems it has missed the boat. And it's been painful for me
In hindsight, I've recently been doing something I have passion for outside game development, Art;
I started drawing
I started drawing during late October. I'm still learning, and having lots of fun with it! creating OCs and fanarts I'm happy with. These are snippets of my recent artwork I liked, I post regularly on my Bluesky, and Twitter (if only Elon would stop nuking that site)
Finally, thank you for reading, I hope you appreciate it as this is the first time I've gotten real, and spilled my emotions online. Keep in mind that this does not mean I'm entirely quitting game development, despite Rabbitball underperforming, I believe my passions remain strong. Thank you to my fans, and the few people who favored and left wonderful reviews on Rabbitball! I would like to give a shoutout to @Starsfordia they've been a golden fan in my every step, they hold a special place in my heart! I can't thank enough.
